Special Court
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah said that the PTI chairman will face a trial in a special court regarding the cypher case.
He said that the confessional statement of Azam Khan, former principal secretary to Imran Khan when he was PM, exposed that the narrative of Khan was based on a conspiracy.
Meanwhile, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) summoned former PM Imran Khan in the Cypher Case on July 25 in Islamabad. The FIA warned Khan of legal action if he failed to appear for the agency in this case in Islamabad.
The federal agency also summoned PTI leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar in this case.

โPTI chairman tarnished the reputation of state institutions through cypher conspiracy. Khan must be punished for this conspiracy,โ Rana Sanaullah said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Interior Minister talked to the media soon after Azam Khan termed the US cipher a “conspiracy” manipulated by the deposed premier. Azam Khan also said that Imran Khan staged this drama to avoid a no-confidence vote in April last year.
Confessional statement of Azam Khan
Azam Khan, the principal secretary to the former prime minister, made a claim stating that the ex-premier had pre-planned the US cipher drama.
Khan, who had been missing since last month, has now reappeared and provided his statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) before a magistrate.
Azam Khan, the former principal secretary of Imran Khan, has alleged that the plan was premeditated. It aimed at achieving political objectives that were contrary to the national interests of the country.
According to Azam Khan, Imran Khan used the cypher to achieve his ulterior motives. Such motives prioritized personal gains over the welfare of the nation.
Azam Khan accused his ex-boss (IK) of using the โcipher gateโ to fuel hatred against national institutions. According to Azam Khan, Imran Khan manipulated the situation to generate animosity and undermine the credibility of national institutions. It ultimately served his own interests rather than the well-being of the country.
He further stated that the โcipher gateโ was orchestrated to sustain his government in power.
