The Federal Public Service Commission has finalised the written examination schedule for the CSS Competitive Examination 2026. The announcement brings clarity for thousands of candidates preparing for one of Pakistanโs most prestigious competitive examinations.
According to the official schedule, the CSS 2026 written examinations will commence on February 4, 2026. The first paper will be English Essay, which traditionally sets the tone for the examination process. Candidates are advised to approach this paper with focused preparation due to its decisive role.
On February 5, candidates will appear in the English Precis and Composition paper. This subject evaluates comprehension, grammar, and analytical writing skills. Therefore, aspirants are expected to demonstrate clarity, accuracy, and structure in their responses.
General Knowledge papers are scheduled for February 6, 7, and 8. These examinations cover a broad range of subjects, including current affairs and general awareness. As a result, candidates should revise both static concepts and recent developments carefully.
The Islamic Studies paper will be conducted on February 9, 2026. Non-Muslim candidates will instead attempt the Comparative Study of Religions paper on the same date. This ensures equal academic assessment across different backgrounds.
Following the compulsory subjects, examinations for optional subjects will begin on February 10. These papers will continue until February 15, 2026. Moreover, exams will be held in both morning and evening sessions according to subject groupings.
The commission has emphasised that candidates must strictly follow the issued date sheet. They have also been instructed to regularly check official notifications related to roll number slips and examination centres. This will help avoid confusion and last-minute complications.
Additionally, candidates have been advised to reach examination centres well before reporting time. Compliance with examination rules and instructions is mandatory throughout the examination period. Any violation may lead to disqualification.
The CSS examination remains a highly competitive pathway to Pakistanโs civil services. Therefore, the release of the official schedule allows aspirants to plan revisions more effectively. It also enables candidates to manage time across compulsory and optional subjects.
With the examination dates now confirmed, aspirants are entering the final and most critical phase of preparation. Consistent revision, disciplined study routines, and adherence to official guidelines will be key to success in CSS 2026.
