Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodríguez have purchased two luxury villas at Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve located within the Red Sea International development, marking a high-profile investment in one of the world’s most exclusive private island retreats. The villas are part of the Red Sea Residences, situated on private islands approximately 26 kilometres from the mainland, accessible only by boat or seaplane, ensuring complete privacy and exclusivity.
Nujuma features 19 fully independent villas, each designed to offer a seamless connection with nature while providing comfort, luxury, and discretion for visitors seeking a private escape. Ronaldo described the destination as “truly exceptional in every sense of the word,” noting that he and Georgina felt an immediate connection to the island’s natural beauty and serenity. The couple acquired a three-bedroom villa for family use and a two-bedroom villa, becoming among the earliest owners at this ultra-luxury resort.
John Pagano, CEO of Red Sea International, highlighted that Ronaldo’s purchase underscores the destination’s unique combination of luxury, adventure, and environmental sustainability. Nujuma and other Red Sea and AMAALA destinations are entirely powered by renewable energy and aim to achieve a net positive environmental impact of 30% by 2040 through coral reef restoration, mangrove and seagrass conservation, and preservation of native habitats.
The broader Red Sea project currently hosts nine upscale hotels, while Shura Island is set to open the first of 11 planned resorts featuring championship golf courses, high-end restaurants, shopping, and cultural experiences. Red Sea International Airport provides direct access from Riyadh, Jeddah, Dubai, Doha, and Milan, making the resort reachable within three hours for 250 million people and within eight hours for 85% of the global population.
Nujuma has been positioned as a private sanctuary for celebrities, high-profile couples, and luxury travelers seeking discretion, comfort, and a sustainable connection to nature. Ronaldo’s investment highlights a growing trend among elite travelers prioritizing privacy, exclusivity, and eco-conscious luxury. The villas promise both tranquility and world-class amenities, reflecting the resort’s dedication to offering a transformative experience in one of the world’s most pristine destinations.
