ISLAMABAD: On Wednesday, Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced the government’s decision to expel all illegal immigrants, including Afghans, from Pakistan.
Bugti clarified during a briefing to the Senate standing committee for interior that the government’s intention was to address all individuals residing in the country unlawfully, not just Afghans.

Emphasizing the government’s stance, Bugti stated, “A person cannot illegally arrive and settle in any country.” He further highlighted that foreign nationals possessing a refugee card or entering on a visa were considered guests of Pakistan.
Bugti also underscored the government’s intention to expel Iranian Baloch individuals who were residing in Pakistan unlawfully.
During an exchange with Agha Rafiullah, Bugti expressed his lack of awareness regarding the issue of Biharis, urging Rafiullah to visit the interior ministry for further briefings.
Bugti assured the committee member that they would be informed about the legal parameters and government actions on the matter the following day. Overall, Interior Minister Sarfaraz Bugti declared the crackdown on illegal immigration, targeting Afghans and all undocumented immigrants in Pakistan.

Islamabad Police Raid A Civil Society Discussion on Repatriation of Afghan Refugees Islamabad Police, led by theย Ramana SHO Alamgirย raided The Black Hole in G-11 sector where a panel discussion was to take place on the issue of repatriation of Afghan refugees.
Eminent politician Afrasiab Khattak and the author and researcher Sajjad Azhar were to be on the panel. The SHO ordered the program to be cancelled and claimed that it was the order of the Deputy Commissioner, but he failed to provide a written order to this effect.
