FAISALABAD: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Faisalabad has issued an order for the seizure of properties belonging to four Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders who are considered to be “absconding” in cases related to the May 9 riots.
The ATC conducted hearings on cases related to the May 9 riots involving four PTI leaders. During the hearing, the court declared these PTI leaders as proclaimed offenders in connection with the May 9 riots.
The properties of PTI West Punjab President Faizullah Kamoka and his brother Kaleem, PTI ticket holder Asad Moazzam, and former Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Habkook Gill were ordered to be confiscated by the ATC.
The anti-terrorism court has directed the relevant authorities to present a compliance report in the next hearing.
Recently, the ATC granted permission for the Faisalabad police to investigate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan and Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi in connection with the May 9 violence. This order has been conveyed to the administration of Adiala jail, where Chairman PTI Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi are currently held. Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 Index Surpasses 52,000 Points
On Wednesday, the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) achieved a significant milestone as its benchmark KSE-100 index surpassed the 52,000-point mark. The index rose by 422.36 points, or 0.81%, closing at 52,342.63 points, up from the previous 51,920.27 points.
The market experienced gains following the State Bank of Pakistan’s decision to maintain its policy rate at 7% as part of efforts to control inflation, which aligned with the expectations of most analysts.

Raza Jafri, the head of Intermarket Securities, pointed out that the sharp focus on the economy, prospects of future monetary easing, and optimism about a successful International Monetary Fund (IMF) review supported the market’s rally. He also noted that despite the rally, valuations in the market were still significantly lower than the long-term average.
