Nishat Group is preparing to introduce two iCAUR SUVs in Pakistan later this year. The upcoming models include the V23 and V27.
The two SUVs offer different approaches to electric mobility. The V23 uses a fully electric powertrain, while the V27 uses a range-extended electric vehicle system.
iCAUR V23 Offers Fully Electric Power
The iCAUR V23 is a compact electric SUV available internationally in rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.
However, Nishat plans to introduce the dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant in Pakistan.
The V23 uses an 81.76 kWh NMC battery and features two electric motors. Together, the motors produce 208 horsepower and 292 Nm of torque.
The SUV has a claimed range of 430 kilometres under the NEDC cycle. Moreover, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.5 seconds.
The V23 also offers 210mm of ground clearance, making it suitable for varied road conditions. Its approach angle reaches 43 degrees, while the departure angle stands at 41 degrees.
Additionally, the SUV has a claimed water-wading depth of 600mm. It comes with six driving modes, regenerative braking and vehicle-to-load functionality.
Safety Features Include Level 2 ADAS
The iCAUR V23 comes with six airbags and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems. Its safety technology includes adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. It also offers blind-spot detection, lane departure prevention and traffic jam assist.
Furthermore, the SUV features a 540-degree 3D camera system and front and rear parking sensors.
Electronic stability control and traction control are also part of its safety package.
iCAUR V27 Uses Range-Extended Technology
The larger iCAUR V27 takes a different approach to electric mobility. It uses a range-extended electric vehicle powertrain.
Its electric motors drive the wheels, while a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine generates electricity to extend driving range.
The V27 uses a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup. It features a 150kW front motor and a 185kW rear motor.
Together, the system produces 449 horsepower and 505 Nm of torque. As a result, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds.
V27 Offers Up to 995km of Combined Range
The V27 features a 34.31 kWh battery that provides a claimed electric range of 150 kilometres. However, its combined range reaches a claimed 995 kilometres when the range-extending system is included.
The SUV supports DC fast charging as well. Its battery can charge from 20% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
The V27 also offers several on-road and off-road driving modes. In addition, it features adaptive damping and advanced traction control.
For towing, the SUV can handle up to 1,600kg with a braked trailer. It can also tow up to 750kg with an unbraked trailer.
V27 Also Brings Advanced Safety Technology
Like the V23, the V27 comes with six airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology. Its driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. The system also provides lane centering, autonomous emergency braking and blind-spot detection.
Rear cross-traffic braking adds another safety feature to the SUV. The V27 also includes a 540-degree camera and a Driver Monitoring System. Additionally, it features roll stability control.
Pakistan Launch Expected This Year
Nishat Group plans to launch the iCAUR V23 and V27 in Pakistan this year. However, the company has not yet announced prices for either SUV.
The two models will therefore enter Pakistan with distinct powertrain strategies. The V23 will target buyers seeking a fully electric SUV, while the V27 will offer electric driving with an extended overall range.
Their launch could give Pakistani buyers more options as interest in electrified vehicles continues to grow.
