ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police conducted a raid on the house of PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, claiming it was due to “confusion” over the address. However, conflicting statements were issued by the police initially denying any raid and later acknowledging it after a video surfaced on social media.
PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan’s house was also reportedly raided, which he confirmed on social media, while the police denied the raid.
Barrister Gohar Ali Khan was not at home during the raid as he was attending a Supreme Court hearing on a petition against the restoration of the party’s electoral symbol.

He informed the court about the raid, returned home, and later informed the bench that his son and nephew were allegedly mistreated by the police, who also confiscated a computer and documents from his house.
Initially, the police claimed the raid was based on a tip-off about proclaimed offenders in the residence, but later stated it was due to confusion about the address. The police denied seizing any items during the raid.
The incident prompted the Supreme Court to take notice, summoning the chief of the capital police.
PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan accused the Islamabad police of raiding his house without a warrant, but the police denied conducting any raid on his residence.
The PTI condemned the raid on Barrister Gohar Khan’s residence, describing it as “unlawful” and alleging that unidentified masked men roughed up Gohar’s son, nephew, and watchman, ransacked the house, and confiscated valuables.
The PTI called on the Supreme Court to bring to justice those involved in the alleged state operation against PTI candidates and expose the conspiracy to exclude the party from the elections.
