Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed a rigorous crackdown across the province to address inflation and curb profiteering.
In a special meeting chaired by Maryam Nawaz, which included all commissioners and deputy commissioners via video link, she instructed them to launch an aggressive campaign against price gouging and ensure strict adherence to government-set rates.
She emphasized that official price lists should be prominently displayed, and the supply and demand of essential food items should be carefully monitored to prevent hoarding. The Chief Minister also tasked Punjab’s Chief Secretary with personally overseeing the anti-profiteering and anti-hoarding efforts.
Maryam Nawaz further mandated the submission of daily reports on the prices of essential goods, stressing that the quality and affordability of food items must be maintained at all costs. Additionally, she ordered the Punjab Food Authority to carry out crackdowns to ensure food product quality is upheld.
