A team of the Central Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested 19 Afghan nationals at Jacobabad Bypass.
According to police officials, the Afghan nationals were travelling toward Karachi in a van when authorities intercepted them.
Police said an excise team had earlier released the group after allegedly accepting a bribe.
SHC Seeks NADRA Report
Meanwhile, the Sindh High Court (SHC) has sought a detailed report from the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
The court directed NADRA to explain the issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to Afghan nationals.
It ordered the authority to submit the report within one month.
The court also directed NADRA to restore the suspended CNIC of the petitioner until the next hearing.
Petitioners Raise Financial Concerns
Nooran Bibi, Sherry Khan and Ismat Khan approached the SHC after authorities blocked their CNICs. Their lawyer told the court that the CNIC blockage had also led to the attachment of bank accounts belonging to Shereen Khan and Ismat. He said the account restrictions had created serious financial difficulties for the petitioners.
NADRAโs lawyer requested additional time to submit the authorityโs reply in detail. Therefore, the court accepted the request and adjourned the hearing until the next date.
