The Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) has secured orders for 60,000 metric tons of Pakistani rice from leading Chinese buyers. The orders were finalized during a trade visit to Guangzhou and Shenzhen.
According to REAP, the agreement reflects growing demand for Pakistani rice in China. Chinese importers praised its quality, aroma, competitive pricing, and reliable supply.
REAP Delegation Strengthens Trade Ties
The delegation was led by REAP Senior Vice Chairman Muhammad Jawed Jillani. Members held business-to-business meetings with major Chinese importers, distributors, and traders.
Furthermore, the delegation showcased Pakistan’s premium basmati and non-basmati rice varieties. They also explored opportunities to expand bilateral trade and establish long-term commercial partnerships.
Pakistan Eyes Higher Rice Exports
Jillani described the 60,000-ton order as a major achievement for Pakistan’s rice export sector. He said the agreement demonstrated REAP’s successful efforts to promote Pakistani rice in international markets.
Meanwhile, former REAP Chairman Rafique Suleman said Pakistani rice enjoys a strong reputation among Chinese consumers. He added that continued trade promotion and engagement with international buyers would help Pakistan increase its share of the global rice market.
