Roshan Bibi, who bravely shielded her family during the Chilas bus attack, sustaining six bullet injuries, has been moved to Karachi for enhanced medical care.
Transported from Islamabad on Friday night, she is now undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Karachi. Four bullets struck her spinal cord, while two lodged in her liver and stomach during the incident where unidentified gunmen fired on a Chilas-bound bus.
In the attack, 10 people, including two soldiers, lost their lives, and 21 passengers were injured. The assailants, firing from nearby hills, caused the bus to collide with a goods truck. Minister of Interior for Gilgit-Baltistan, Shams Lone, revealed that the bus driver, in a state of panic, accelerated, resulting in the collision.
To investigate this “terrorist” attack, a Joint Investigation Team (JIT), headed by Superintendent of Police (SP) Sher Khan, has been formed. Authorities have detained about a dozen and a half suspects, currently under interrogation by the JIT.
