ISLAMABAD: A larger bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has started hearing the contempt of court case against former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan. At the outset of hearing, chief justice of IHC Athar Minallah expressed concern over the words used in Imran Khan’s reply to show-cause issued by the court in contempt of court case.

A five-member bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah, Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb, Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri, and Justice Babar Sattar is hearing the case on Wednesday.
Ahead of the hearing, police set security on high alert around the IHC and the path from the entry gate to the courtroom was closed with a tent.
Chief Justice said that he was not expecting such a disheartening reply from the petitioner.
IHC chief justice also said that the most cruel form of torture of the enforced disappearance which took place in the past three years. Indirectly, the chief justice gave hints of enforced disappearances of journalists during PTI’s tenure.
