Investigators Record Statement of Injured Father
The investigation into the Chakwal shooting case has moved forward after investigators recorded the statement of the injured father of nine-year-old Hania.
The child was allegedly shot dead by a Crime Control Department official during an incident that has drawn national and international attention.
According to sources, the statement of Hania’s father was recorded by a special investigation team at Benazir Bhutto Hospital.
The father was injured in the same incident and remained under medical care when investigators reached him for his account.
Authorities are trying to establish the full sequence of events that led to the death of the minor girl.
The case has raised serious questions about police action, use of force and operational responsibility during the incident.
Police Constable Sent to Judicial Remand
Investigators have also examined the attendance record of the CCD official allegedly involved in the shooting.
Sources said the official weapon allegedly used in the incident has been recovered from the police constable concerned.
After the initial investigation was completed, the constable was presented before a local court.
The area magistrate sent the suspect to jail on judicial remand.
The court also directed investigators to submit the case report on June 26.
Meanwhile, bullet casings recovered from the scene have been sent to a forensic laboratory.
The forensic report is expected to play an important role in determining whether the recovered weapon was used in the shooting.
Officials said further legal action will depend on the investigation findings, witness statements and forensic evidence.
Robbery Suspects Killed in Police Operation
The shooting reportedly occurred after the family was targeted by robbers.
According to sources, two suspected robbers linked to the earlier robbery were later killed in an alleged police encounter.
The deceased suspects were identified as Muhammad Fayyaz and Muhammad Abbas.
Sources said both men were wanted by police in multiple criminal cases.
They were killed during a police operation one day after Hania’s death.
The case has also received international attention because Hania was reportedly an Australian national of Pakistani origin.
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances of her death.
Authorities are now examining how the shooting happened and whether proper procedures were followed.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say responsibility will be fixed after all evidence is reviewed.
