Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir met Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on Wednesday. The leaders discussed regional security and ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation.
The visiting foreign minister called on Field Marshal Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both sides exchanged views on matters of mutual interest.
Leaders Discuss Peace And Bilateral Relations
During the meeting, Field Marshal Munir reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening ties with Kuwait. Moreover, he said both countries shared a common vision for regional peace and prosperity.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Al-Sabah appreciated Pakistan’s continued support for regional peace and stability. He also praised the strong fraternal relations between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the visiting minister in Islamabad. The meeting included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and several federal ministers.
Pakistan, Kuwait Expand Cooperation Across Sectors
Prime Minister Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding cooperation with Kuwait. The discussions covered trade, investment, energy, agriculture, information technology, maritime affairs, and human resource development.
Furthermore, both leaders reviewed the regional situation and stressed continued consultation on shared interests. The prime minister also condemned attacks on Kuwait and other Gulf countries during the ongoing Middle East conflict.
Shehbaz said Pakistan would continue supporting dialogue and diplomatic efforts for regional peace. In response, Sheikh Al-Sabah appreciated Pakistan’s role in promoting diplomacy and regional stability.
Both countries agreed to exchange official delegations to advance future cooperation. Additionally, the prime minister renewed his invitation for Kuwait’s Crown Prince to visit Pakistan.
