ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority has prepared a proposal to develop a zip line in the Margalla Hills. It will be the largest zip line in Pakistan to promote tourism in Islamabad.
According to 24NewsHD TV, the proposal follows Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s vision to develop Islamabad as a major tourist destination.
The proposed zip line would stretch 2.83 kilometres through a mountainous valley between Daman-e-Koh and the former Monal site.
CDA officials said the attraction could help establish a new tourist centre in the Margalla Hills.
The project would also provide visitors with an additional recreational facility in the capital, according to officials.
Zip line to offer circular visitor route
Under the proposal, the zip line would start and end at the same location.
This arrangement would allow visitors to return to the starting point after completing the ride.
The CDA said the proposed attraction forms part of broader plans to expand tourism facilities across Islamabad.
Officials believe the project could add another major recreational attraction to the capital’s existing tourist destinations.
The Margalla Hills already attract visitors for hiking, sightseeing and recreational activities.
The proposed zip line would introduce an additional adventure-based facility while supporting the city’s tourism development plans.
However, the project remains at the proposal stage and requires further consideration before construction begins.
The CDA has included the project in its broader tourism development plans aimed at attracting more visitors to Islamabad.
The authority is also seeking to develop new tourist facilities that could strengthen Islamabad’s appeal as a recreational destination.
