ISLAMABAD: Rawalpindi police have registered a case against senior leaders and workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for allegedly assaulting journalist Tayyab Baloch outside Adiala Jail. The complaint, filed at Saddar Bairooni police station, accuses several party figures of involvement in the incident.
According to officials, Tayyab Baloch lodged a formal complaint against PTI workers who allegedly attacked him when he was performing his professional duties near Adiala Jail. Following the report, the Saddar Bairooni police registered a First Information Report (FIR) and initiated legal proceedings against the accused.
The complaint specifically names prominent PTI figures, including Aleema Khan, the sister of the party’s founder, party lawyer Naeem Panjotha, and PTI leader Intisar Satti. Police confirmed that all three have been nominated in the FIR.
In addition to the named individuals, the FIR also mentions around 40 unidentified PTI workers for their alleged role in the attack. Authorities say investigations are underway to identify and trace the suspects involved.
