Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry has formally taken charge as the new Inspector General of Islamabad Police.
A formal change-of-command ceremony was held to mark his appointment. A police contingent also presented him with a guard of honour.
New IG Reviews Islamabad Police Operations
After assuming charge, Sohail Chaudhry held introductory meetings with senior police officers.
He received detailed briefings on professional, administrative and operational matters.
The new IG also met officials at the Central Police Office.
During the meetings, he reviewed various issues related to police operations and public services.
Sohail Chaudhry later visited the Martyrs’ Memorial and paid tribute to police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
Law and Order Declared Top Priority
The new Islamabad police chief said maintaining law and order would remain one of his main priorities.
He also pledged to strengthen the protection of citizens across the capital.
Sohail Chaudhry said police services would be made faster, more effective and more responsive to public needs.
He directed greater attention toward crime prevention and improved policing measures.
Focus on Traffic and Modern Technology
The new IG also highlighted the need for better traffic management in Islamabad.
He called for improved public services and greater use of modern technology in policing.
Sohail Chaudhry said technology could help improve police efficiency and strengthen service delivery.
He further expressed his commitment to building greater public trust in Islamabad Police.
The new IG said coordinated efforts would be made to improve policing standards and provide better security and services to residents.
