Can This $35 Nokia Phone Really Last More Than 40 Days?

HMD has launched the Nokia 300 Charge, a feature phone built around long battery life and basic connectivity. Its biggest attraction is a 3,700mAh removable battery, which is unusually large for a basic feature phone.

The battery also supports reverse wired charging. Therefore, users can use the handset as a small power bank for compatible devices.

Nokia 300 Charge Design and Display

The Nokia 300 Charge features a compact body with a textured finish. Its design gives the handset a more rugged appearance.

The phone measures 136.55 × 55 × 14.94mm and weighs 138 grams. It comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display that offers a resolution of 240 × 320 pixels.

HMD offers the phone in Green and Sandstone color options. However, despite its rugged appearance, the handset does not carry an official IP rating.

The phone also includes a powerful LED flashlight on its top edge. HMD says it can be up to four times brighter than the flashlight on the Nokia 105 (2023).

Hardware and Software

The Nokia 300 Charge uses the Unisoc SC6531E chipset. It comes with 4MB of RAM and 4MB of internal storage.

Users can expand the storage through a microSD card. The phone supports memory cards with capacities of up to 32GB.

The handset runs HMD’s S30+ operating system. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, one speaker and one microphone.

Connectivity remains basic because the phone supports 2G GSM networks only. It supports the 900MHz and 1800MHz bands and offers dual Mini-SIM support.

Basic Camera for Everyday Use

The Nokia 300 Charge features a basic QVGA rear camera.

However, photography is not the main focus of the handset. Instead, HMD has designed the phone around calling, battery life and everyday basic functions.

This approach keeps the device focused on users who want a simple phone without smartphone features.

The removable 3,700mAh battery is the phone’s biggest selling point.

HMD claims the Nokia 300 Charge can provide more than 40 days of standby time under its testing conditions.

The company also claims up to 37.9 hours of talk time on a single charge.

The phone supports 10W charging through USB-C. In addition, it offers 10W reverse wired charging.

A dedicated power-out button allows users to activate the reverse charging feature more easily.

As a result, the phone can provide emergency power to compatible devices, including phones and earphones.

The Nokia 300 Charge starts at around $35, although the final price can vary between retailers and markets.

At that price, the phone focuses on practicality rather than smartphone-style features.
