ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet’s farewell meeting concluded with the decision to conduct an open auction for the Toshakhana gifts. The participants decided that the proceeds from the auction of Toshakhana gifts will be directed toward the welfare of orphans. The Prime Minister congratulated the members for a successful tenure and they also discussed numerous other important matters.
Sources said the cabinet decided to appoint Salimullah as deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan. Additionally, they also informed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is scheduled to address a joint session of the parliament. Following this, he will submit a summary to the president to request the assembly’s dissolution.

Prime Minister Sharif conveyed his appreciation to the cabinet members for their unwavering cooperation. The federal cabinet expressed contentment with the government’s one-and-a-half-year tenure.
The Prime Minister commended the cabinet members for their efficient performance in such a brief span. He also acknowledged the economic management role played by the Allies.
During the meeting, the members criticized the previous administration for the country’s predicaments. The Prime Minister noted that the engagement with the IMF program was essential, though its terms were considered stringent. It was emphasized that Pakistan would have encountered numerous challenges, particularly related to foreign exchange reserves, if not for the IMF program. The Premier remarked on the IMF’s constraints on subsidies, highlighting its impact.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister briefed the cabinet about investment discussions with a Saudi Arabian delegation. He predicted an investment ranging from $14 to $15 billion.
Regarding the CPEC, Shehbaz emphasized that this initiative would propel Pakistan toward progress. The aim is to eradicate poverty, unemployment, and financial dependence.
The Prime Minister also pledged to eliminate debt and elevate Pakistan’s stature. He promised an agricultural revolution if granted another opportunity in the future.
