ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, in connection with the National Crime Agency (NCA) £190 million scandal.

The accountability watchdog has scheduled her appearance, along with Farhat Shehzadi, on November 13 at the NAB Rawalpindi office.
NAB has instructed both Bushra Bibi and Farhat Shehzadi to appear before a joint investigation team as accused individuals in the NCA scandal and to bring documents related to Al Qadir University funds.
Earlier, a local court in Islamabad approved bail for Bushra Bibi, the former first lady and wife of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, in the 190-million-pound Al-Qadir Trust case. The court extended her bail plea with surety bonds worth Rs 100,000, and it also prevented authorities from arresting the former first lady until the next hearing.
The NCA £190 million scandal involves an investigation by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against PTI Chief Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi, and others. They are alleged to have gained control of hundreds of canals of land in the name of Al Qadir University Trust, causing a loss of 190 million pounds to the national exchequer.
The charges suggest that the former prime minister and other accused individuals allegedly handled Rs 50 billion, equivalent to 190 million pounds at the time, sent by Britain’s National Crime Agency (NCA) to the government. The PTI chief established the Trust for the Al-Qadir University Project on December 26, 2019.
PTI Activist Khadijah Shah Granted Bail In Provocative Tweets Case
Meanwhile, a Lahore district and sessions court has granted bail to Khadijah Shah, a PTI activist and designer, in a case related to provocative tweets.
The bail was granted by Additional Sessions Judge Muhammad Nawaz upon submission of surety bonds worth Rs100,000.
The case against Khadijah Shah was registered by the FIA Lahore. However, it’s important to note that she is still awaiting bail in another case, which means she will remain in detention.
