ISLAMABAD: The government allocated a total budget of Rs6.47 billion for the Federal Constitutional Court during the financial year 2026-27, a private channel reported on Wednesday.
This figure marks a significant increase compared to the previous year, when the court received a budget of Rs2.25 billion. According to official budget documents, the court currently employs a total of 451 officers and staff members. Out of the total allocation, authorities set aside Rs3 billion specifically to cover salaries and regular allowances.
The financial plan distributes Rs615.96 million for the basic salaries of 183 officers. Meanwhile, petty employees receive Rs121.22 million to cover their basic salaries. Additionally, the budget channels Rs1.84 billion toward monthly staff allowances, while another Rs389.57 million will cover miscellaneous employee benefits.
Apart from employee compensation, the court received Rs826.62 million to manage daily office expenses. This operational fund allocates Rs307.58 million for utility bills and Rs197.11 million for official travel. Furthermore, the court designated Rs248.2 million for general office supplies and Rs6.41 million for communications.
The document also outlines a massive Rs1.24 billion development fund to purchase new assets. This capital expenditure includes Rs537.9 million for new vehicles, Rs161.3 million for IT equipment, and Rs107.5 million for new machinery. Finally, the government reserved Rs1.18 billion for building repairs alongside smaller allocations for pensions, hospitality, and sub-office requirements.
