An emotional reunion unfolded at the Kartarpur Corridor in Narowal’s Shakargarh district, where two brothers, separated since the Partition of 1947, finally met after 78 years.
One brother, a resident of Sheikhupura, Pakistan, reunited with his younger sibling, who has been living in Ludhiana, India, since the division of the subcontinent.
The long-lost brothers reconnected through social media, which led to their long-awaited meeting at Kartarpur Sahib. The corridor, known for enabling visa-free travel for Sikh pilgrims and facilitating cross-border reunions, became the setting for a deeply emotional gathering.
Family members from both nations, including men and women, accompanied the siblings. Witnesses described the reunion as profoundly moving, as the brothers embraced each other with tears and heartfelt emotions after nearly eight decades of separation.
