Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee has dismissed years of speculation linking him romantically with Bollywood actress Preity Zinta. In a recent interview, Lee clarified that the rumours were baseless and described the actress as a close friend whom he continues to respect.
Brett Lee Clarifies Relationship
Speaking to Bombay Times, Lee said he had never dated a Bollywood actress. Referring to Preity Zinta, he said they were great friends and remain on good terms. He also praised her intelligence and recalled that she was the owner of the Punjab cricket team during his time with the franchise.
Furthermore, Lee said rumours never troubled him because he always knew the truth. He added that people are free to speculate, but he never allowed such stories to affect his personal life or career.
Previously, Preity had also dismissed the rumours through a post on X. She stated that being romantically linked with Lee had become outdated and clarified that they were only friends.
Rumours Began During IPL Years
The speculation intensified between 2008 and 2011 when Lee represented Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League while Preity co-owned the franchise. Moreover, reports gained momentum after the pair were seen together at a restaurant in Mumbai.
Lee married Elizabeth Kemp in 2006 before their divorce in 2009. He later married Lana Anderson in 2014, and they have two children. Meanwhile, Preity married Gene Goodenough in 2016 and welcomed twins through surrogacy in 2021. She is preparing for the release of her upcoming films, Batwara 1947 and Vibe.
