Brent and WTI crude oil prices fell significantly today amid recovery in Saudi oil supply. Brent fell to $102 a barrel while West Texas Index (WTI) dropped below $100 per barrel this morning.
Oil prices fell on Monday as traders monitored the recovery of Saudi Arabia’s oil shipments following weekend missile and drone attacks. The attacks by Iran-backed Houthis disrupted Saudi energy infrastructure and raised concerns about regional supplies.
Brent crude falls below $102
Brent crude futures fell 1.91% to $101.89 per barrel, according to data from Mettis Global.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures dropped $1.78, or 1.85%, to $94.30 per barrel by 10:15 am PST. Despite disruption to Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline, oil flows across the Middle East have remained relatively resilient. JPMorgan analysts said regional oil flows averaged 17.1 million barrels per day over the past 10 days.
However, that figure remained 6.1 million barrels per day below the 2025 average, highlighting continued supply pressures.
Conflict uncertainty keeps markets cautious
Market concerns about possible supply disruptions remain elevated amid uncertainty surrounding the US-Iran conflict. US President Donald Trump said he was in a “deciding mode” regarding the conflict during an interview with Fox News. He also said “very big things” would happen in the near future as tensions remained high.
Therefore, traders are closely watching developments on the diplomatic front and the pace of Saudi export recovery. Oil prices could remain sensitive to changes in regional shipping conditions and production flows. Any renewed disruption to shipping or delays in restoring exports could tighten physical supplies.
Consequently, such developments could place renewed upward pressure on international oil prices. However, faster export normalization could ease supply concerns and keep prices under pressure.
