ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has called on Afghanistan to take decisive action against terrorism emanating from its soil. During a ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he emphasized that terrorists within Afghanistan have been targeting innocent people. He emphasized that Kabul must fulfill its promises to the international community to effectively combat terrorism.
Bilawal expressed Pakistan’s willingness to assist Afghanistan in addressing this critical issue. He highlighted Pakistan’s decisive stance in demanding the Afghan interim setup to curb terrorism.
He noted that Afghanistan faces capacity issues in dealing with terrorism due to the lack of a standing army, anti-terrorist force, or border management force.

The foreign minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining a non-aligned stance and avoiding involvement in block politics. Regarding concerns about the use of NATO’s left-behind weapons by terrorists and criminals, Bilawal Bhutto urged the Afghan government to demonstrate a clear intention to combat terrorism effectively.
He also highlighted Pakistan’s successful global engagements, particularly its achievements at the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
Additionally, he emphasized the country’s progress on climate change issues. Additionally, he thanked the international community for supporting Pakistan during the floods last year for relief and rehabilitation efforts.
