Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari is scheduled to arrive in Lahore on December 7 for a crucial three-day visit. According to party sources, Bilawal is expected to initiate major organisational reforms aimed at strengthening the PPP’s structure across Punjab ahead of future political challenges.
Key Appointments and New Notifications Expected
Sources confirmed that Bilawal will issue notifications for 63 new office-bearers as part of the party’s ongoing restructuring process. The Lahore chapter is also set for significant changes, including the appointment of a new city president and other key leadership roles. These moves are intended to revitalise the party’s presence in the provincial capital and improve internal coordination.
During his visit, the PPP chairman will hold meetings with newly appointed office-bearers, senior leaders and workers. Several of these interactions are expected to take place at the Governor House, where Bilawal is likely to review the reorganisation plan and discuss the party’s future political strategy in Punjab.
Shift Toward Town-Based Model Under Consideration
The PPP is considering changing Lahore’s organisational structure from a district-based model to a towns-level system. Party insiders believe this shift will strengthen grassroots engagement and help improve outreach at the local level.
In anticipation of Bilawal’s visit, the Governor House has placed restrictions on public meetings from Monday to Wednesday to ensure smooth arrangements and security.
The three-day visit is seen as a significant step in the PPP’s preparation for upcoming political activities, with party workers expecting renewed momentum and clearer direction under Bilawal’s leadership.
