ISLAMABAD: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressing a party rally in memory of the Karsaz incident victims in Karachi, stated that democracy and elections in Pakistan have been put on hold for one man’s return to the country.
He emphasized the importance of everyone contributing to Pakistan’s development. He also criticized the idea that the previous 16-month government could effectively run Pakistan’s affairs from London.

Without explicitly mentioning Nawaz Sharif by name, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed hope that the state’s support for the homecoming would lead to significant events. He also expressed hope that the Election Commission of Pakistan would promptly provide the election date and schedule.
Zardari underscored the need for political tolerance in Pakistan’s political atmosphere. This is essential to address the country’s political and economic challenges and move away from divisive and abusive politics.
He further underscored that elections and parliament actively represent the masses, as the Parliament actively engages with diverse opinions and actively formulates collective decisions to address challenges. The PPP has set past examples of reaching consensus despite differences.
Bilawal also paid tribute to the people of Palestine for their resilience in their struggle for the right to self-determination and condemned the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip, expressing Pakistan’s solidarity with the Palestinians.
