Sardar Akhtar Mengal, the chief of the Balochistan National Party, accused Caretaker Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti of running death squads with state patronage. He claimed that these death squads have been responsible for numerous killings and abductions, and he mentioned that rockets fell near his location multiple times.

Mengal also asserted that they targeted his house as well, resulting in two of his employees’ injuries due to bullets fired from heavy weapons and rockets. He stated that the people in Wadh live in fear for their lives.
Additionally, he alleged that the recent provincial apex committee meeting made one-sided decisions, aiming to escalate tensions in Wadh. He claimed that these actions result because the BNP has consistently represented Balochistan in provincial and federal legislatures.
Regarding the announced long march to Quetta, Mengal expressed doubts about the government allowing it to take place on October 22, as the provincial government had imposed Section 144 in several cities of Balochistan.
In response to questions about elections, he noted that decision-makers did not appear inclined to hold elections in January or February of the following year. Mengal also suggested that in the case of elections, the PML-N might face challenges in securing its desired results in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
