Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti inaugurated the Pink Bus service in Quetta, a dedicated transport initiative for women and female students.
Announced on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), CM Bugti emphasized that the service aims to provide safe, dignified, and reliable travel for women, facilitating easier access to education, employment, and healthcare across the province.
The Chief Minister confirmed that the Pink Bus service will be maintained permanently and expanded to other districts in Balochistan in its next phase. The initiative reflects the provincial government’s commitment to improving mobility for women, enhancing opportunities, and supporting their participation in various sectors.
Bugti highlighted the broader goal of creating an environment where Baloch women can pursue education and development without fear or restriction.
CM Bugti also issued a strong message to extremist elements targeting Baloch women, stressing that the government’s measures are meant to counter forces that mislead women into negative activities, including militancy.
He said such efforts aim to divert women from education and personal growth toward destructive paths, and stressed that the people of Balochistan have never benefited from such conflicts.
The Pink Bus initiative is part of a broader effort by the provincial government to empower women and create safer, more inclusive public spaces.
Bugti asserted that the government is committed to opening doors to world-class educational institutions for Baloch women, ensuring that they have the tools and opportunities to succeed academically and professionally.
The launch of the Pink Bus service has been welcomed by residents and women’s advocacy groups, who see it as a step toward improving women’s mobility, safety, and independence. Authorities aim to monitor and refine the service as it expands to additional districts, ensuring accessibility and efficiency while maintaining security standards.
This initiative underscores Balochistan’s focus on promoting education, employment, and safety for women, signaling a proactive approach to social development and empowerment in the province.
