Balochistan Assembly
The Balochistan Assembly is poised to inaugurate its opening session on February 28 at 3 pm, marking a significant moment as it administers the oath to the recently elected members.
This session, convened by the Governor of Balochistan, represents the formal initiation of the elected representatives into their legislative roles, embodying the essence of the democratic process.
Scheduled to preside over the proceedings is the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, Jam Jamali, whose role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth and orderly conduct of the oath-taking ceremony.
The event holds considerable importance, symbolizing the culmination of the electoral process and the subsequent representation of the public’s mandate in the legislative body.
This development follows the induction sessions of the Punjab and Sindh assemblies, with the former convened on Friday and the latter elected on Saturday. The Sindh Assembly, in its inaugural session earlier today, witnessed Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani presiding over the proceedings.
During the Saturday afternoon session, 147 newly elected members of the Sindh Assembly took their oaths, setting the stage for the crucial election of the speaker and deputy speaker, scheduled for the following day.
Deputy Speaker Raheela Leghari administered the oath to Speaker Durrani, who has also been elected as a Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA).
As the Balochistan Assembly gears up for its opening session, it represents a key moment in the democratic landscape of the province, where elected representatives formally assume their roles to address the needs and concerns of the public they represent.
The ceremony signifies the democratic principles and values upheld in the region, contributing to the overall governance and decision-making processes within Balochistan.
