Bahrain praises regional defence cooperation
ISLAMABAD: Bahrainโs Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani congratulated Pakistan for signing a trilateral Makkah Defence Agreement. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar received a telephone call from Bahrainโs Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
According to a Foreign Office statement issued in Islamabad on Tuesday, Al Zayani congratulated Dar on the signing of the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.
Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Tรผrkiye signed the agreement to strengthen defence cooperation and collective security.
During the conversation, the Bahraini foreign minister also expressed his intention to visit Pakistan in the near future.
Dar warmly welcomed Al Zayaniโs plan and thanked him for his friendly sentiments toward Pakistan.
Dar reaffirms commitment to diplomacy
The two foreign ministers discussed matters related to regional peace and stability during their telephone conversation.
Dar reiterated Pakistanโs firm commitment to promoting dialogue and diplomacy to address regional challenges.
He stressed that peaceful engagement remains essential for achieving lasting stability in the region and beyond.
Meanwhile, Bahrainโs interest in strengthening high-level engagement with Pakistan reflects growing diplomatic interaction among regional countries.
The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement has also highlighted efforts by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Tรผrkiye to enhance strategic cooperation.
Pakistan has repeatedly called for dialogue and diplomatic engagement to resolve disputes and prevent further regional tensions.
The Foreign Office said Islamabad remains committed to constructive engagement with regional partners.
The planned visit by Bahrainโs foreign minister is expected to provide an opportunity for further discussions on bilateral relations and regional developments.
