ISLAMABAD: Azam Khan, the principal secretary to the former prime minister, made a claim stating that the ex-premier had pre-planned the US cipher drama.
Khan, who had been missing since last month, has now reappeared and provided his statement under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) before a magistrate.
Azam Khan, the former principal secretary of Imran Khan, has alleged that the plan was premeditated. It aimed at achieving political objectives that were contrary to the national interests of the country.
According to Azam Khan, the actions taken in the cipher drama were driven by ulterior motives. Such motives prioritized personal gains over the welfare of the nation.

He has accused him of using the “cipher gate” to fuel hatred against national institutions. According to Azam Khan, Imran Khan manipulated the situation to generate animosity and undermine the credibility of national institutions. It ultimately served his own interests rather than the well-being of the country.
He further stated that the “cipher gate” was orchestrated to sustain his government in power.
