Emraan Hashmiโs Awarapan 2 has crossed the Rs100 crore mark domestically. However, the filmโs box office momentum has started showing signs of slowing.
The film earned Rs6.75 crore on Wednesday, marking its lowest single-day collection so far.
Despite the dip, the sequel has continued to perform strongly overall. Its domestic gross has reached Rs128.29 crore, while its domestic net collection stands at Rs107.50 crore.
Meanwhile, the filmโs worldwide gross has climbed to Rs153.59 crore.
Awarapan 2 Sees Slower Theatre Occupancy
The film recorded an overall theatre occupancy of 16.72% on Day 6.
Morning shows recorded 9.54% occupancy, while afternoon screenings reached 16.62%.
Evening shows registered 16.92% occupancy, followed by 21.77% during night screenings.
Although the numbers indicate slower momentum, the film has already achieved a significant commercial milestone.
Emraan Hashmi Scores a Major Solo Milestone
The Rs100 crore milestone carries particular significance for Emraan Hashmi.
Awarapan 2 is his first solo release in 18 years to cross the Rs100 crore mark.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh also highlighted the achievement on X.
The milestone adds another notable chapter to Hashmiโs career, particularly because the actor has remained closely associated with the original Awarapan.
The sequelโs performance has therefore attracted attention beyond its overall box office numbers.
Awarapan 2 Has More Time at the Box Office
Despite the recent slowdown, Awarapan 2 still has some room to continue its theatrical run.
The film faces its next major challenge when Toxic arrives in cinemas on August 26.
Until then, Awarapan 2 has an opportunity to build on its current earnings.
Its performance during the coming days will determine whether the film can maintain its momentum or experience a sharper decline.
Sequel Builds on Awarapanโs Cult Following
Awarapan 2 follows the 2007 film Awarapan, which initially struggled at the box office. Over time, however, the original film developed a strong cult following. The sequel has now managed to achieve a considerably stronger theatrical run.
Furthermore, Awarapan 2 has moved ahead of the Partition drama Batwara 1947 at the box office.
The film features Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, Ali Fazal, Abhimanyu Singh, Khushi Hajare, Kanikka Kapur, Waseem Rajput and Isha Sandhir.
For Hashmi, however, the biggest achievement remains the Rs100 crore milestone. The coming days will now show whether Awarapan 2 can turn its strong opening run into a longer-lasting box office success.
