Attock Refinery Limited (PSX: ATRL) has signed an Upgrade Agreement to modernize its existing refinery infrastructure.
The agreement was signed with Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited, marking a major step in the company’s refinery upgrade plans.
Refinery Upgrade Targets Better Fuel Quality
The project aims to improve operational efficiency and enhance the quality of petroleum products.
A key objective is to enable the refinery to produce Euro-V standard fuels.
The upgrade is also expected to support more efficient refinery operations and strengthen Pakistan’s energy security.
Agreement Linked to Pakistan’s Refinery Upgrade Policy
Inter State Gas Systems was mandated by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division under the Pakistan Oil Refining Policy for Upgradation of Existing/Brownfield Refineries, 2023.
The policy was subsequently amended in February 2024 and August 2026.
The latest agreement forms part of broader efforts to modernize Pakistan’s existing refinery infrastructure.
Attock Refinery said the project aligns with its commitment to sustainable development and infrastructure improvement.
The company expects the modernization programme to contribute to a more sustainable and secure energy future for Pakistan.
The development was disclosed through a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
