A 10-year-old domestic worker has described the abuse he allegedly suffered while working at his employer’s house. The case surfaced after a video showing the child being assaulted went viral on social media.
The footage sparked public outrage and prompted police to launch an investigation. Officers also arrested the suspect and registered a criminal case.
Child Shares Details of Alleged Abuse
The child, Ali Jabbar, shared his account in a recorded video statement.
He said the employer had beaten him several times during the past three months. One earlier assault caused swelling in his arm. Although the swelling has reduced, he said he still carries injury marks on his leg.
Ali alleged that Adil Sajid assaulted him.
According to the child, the employer first scolded him for not cleaning the roof. Later, he cleaned the roof without using water. The employer then allegedly beat him again.
Police Register Case After Viral Video
Police registered a First Information Report (FIR) after the assault video spread online.
The FIR includes Section 328-A, which deals with violence against children.
Investigators identified the suspect as Adil Sajid after reviewing the viral footage. The video allegedly shows him beating the child with a stick.
Police said the suspect works at a paint shop in Bagh Sardaran. They added that Ali had worked at his house as a domestic helper for the last three months.
Police Rescue Child and Arrest Suspect
City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera immediately took notice of the incident.
He directed officers to rescue the child and arrest the suspect without delay.
Following these instructions, Sadiqabad Police recovered the 10-year-old and took Adil Sajid into custody. Officers later shifted the suspect to the police station for further investigation.
Authorities Promise Transparent Investigation
CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera said authorities will not tolerate violence against children or women.
He assured the public that investigators will conduct a fair and transparent inquiry. He also said the law will hold anyone responsible for child abuse accountable.
Police continue investigating the case. Authorities have pledged to complete the investigation and proceed according to the law.
