PLA Anniversary Ceremony Held at GHQ
Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed the enduring strength of relations between Pakistan and China.
He said the friendship between the two countries had remained firm despite changing regional and global challenges.
Field Marshal Munir made the remarks during a ceremony marking the 99th founding anniversary of Chinaโs Peopleโs Liberation Army.
The commemorative event was held at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on Saturday.
Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong attended the ceremony as the guest of honour.
Chinaโs Defence Attachรฉ Major General Wang Zhong was also present.
Officials from the Chinese Embassy and senior officers from Pakistanโs army, navy and air force attended the event.
Field Marshal Munir welcomed the Chinese delegation and congratulated the leadership and personnel of the Peopleโs Liberation Army on its founding anniversary.
He praised the PLAโs role in protecting Chinaโs sovereignty and supporting the countryโs national development.
He also recognised the Chinese militaryโs contribution to international peace, security and regional stability.
Military Partnership Built on Trust and Strategic Cooperation
Field Marshal Munir described Pakistan-China friendship as unique and time-tested.
He said the relationship had remained stable during periods of political, economic and security uncertainty.
The army chief stressed that the partnership was based on mutual trust, consistent support and shared strategic interests.
He said the armed forces of Pakistan and the Peopleโs Liberation Army were genuine partners.
Their military relationship continues to include training, defence cooperation and regular high-level engagement.
Field Marshal Munir said both forces shared a strong commitment to regional peace and stability.
He added that Pakistan and China would continue protecting their common strategic interests.
The statement reflected the wider strategic partnership between the two countries.
Pakistan and China maintain close cooperation in defence, infrastructure, trade, investment and regional diplomacy.
Their relationship has also expanded through joint military exercises and defence technology cooperation.
Field Marshal Munir indicated that the armed forces of both countries would continue strengthening institutional ties.
Chinese Envoy Praises Pakistanโs Counterterrorism Sacrifices
Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong thanked Field Marshal Munir for hosting the anniversary ceremony.
He praised Pakistanโs armed forces for their contribution to the fight against terrorism.
The ambassador also recognised the sacrifices made by Pakistani military personnel during counterterrorism operations.
He said China remained committed to supporting Pakistan.
Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed Beijingโs determination to further strengthen its partnership with Islamabad.
He described the relationship as an All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The Chinese envoy said cooperation between the two countries would continue across defence and other important sectors.
His remarks highlighted Chinaโs support for Pakistanโs security and development priorities.
The ceremony also demonstrated the close relationship between the military leadership of both countries.
Officials said Pakistan-China defence cooperation remained an important component of the broader bilateral partnership.
Both sides expressed their commitment to maintaining regional peace and responding jointly to emerging security challenges.
