PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, in collaboration with the Pakistan Army and Tour Da Pekhawar, has embarked on an exciting venture by launching Night Tourism in the city, aiming to illuminate its rich historical tapestry and unlock its immense potential.
This innovative initiative is a concerted effort involving KP’s Directorate of Archaeology and Museums, Tour Da Pekhawar, and the Pakistan Army.
Approximately 50 tourists, including families hailing from Peshawar and various other cities across Pakistan, enthusiastically participated in the Night Tourism event, eager to delve into the city’s vibrant history, cultural vibrancy, and cherished heritage.
Throughout the immersive tour, participants had the opportunity to explore iconic landmarks such as the Peshawar Museum, the bustling Qissa Khawani bazaar, and the storied Sethi House, immersing themselves in the captivating heritage of the city. Their excitement and delight were palpable as they absorbed the sights and sounds of Peshawar’s rich tapestry.
Dr. Abdul Samad, Director of Archaeology, underscored the significance of this initiative, emphasizing that it provides a unique and enchanting opportunity for visitors to experience the allure of the capital city’s historical sites under the cloak of night.
Furthermore, it’s noteworthy that the World Bank-assisted KITE Project DoT is actively engaged in the restoration of museums and heritage assets, lending its support to the ‘Heritage By Night’ initiative in KP’s bustling capital.
As part of this comprehensive endeavor, the KITE Project facilitated the illumination of prominent landmarks such as the Peshawar Museum, Gor Khatri, and Sethi House in Peshawar, contributing significantly to the promotion and preservation of the Heritage By Night initiative.
