Hajj 2025
The Ministry of Religious Affairs has introduced a new health policy for Pakistani pilgrims participating in Hajj 2025, in alignment with updated guidelines set by the Saudi government.
The policy, designed to safeguard the health and safety of all pilgrims, places strict conditions on individuals with certain medical conditions.
According to the new regulations, people suffering from serious health issues such as cancer, heart disease, kidney problems, or respiratory conditions will not be allowed to perform Hajj this year.
The ministry emphasized that these restrictions are in place to protect vulnerable individuals who may be at greater risk during the physically demanding pilgrimage.
Under the policy, all pilgrims are required to submit a medical certificate confirming their eligibility.
Those undergoing dialysis, as well as individuals who have suffered from recent heart attacks, shortness of breath, or lung diseases, will be barred from the pilgrimage.
Additionally, people with liver failure, severe neurological or psychiatric disorders, physical disabilities, memory loss, or amnesia are also restricted from participating.
Pregnant women beyond seven months, individuals with communicable diseases, and patients with tuberculosis, cancer, or recent influenza, dengue, or COVID-19 infections are prohibited from attending Hajj.
The policy further mandates that all pilgrims receive vaccinations for meningitis, influenza, COVID-19, and polio, with certificates required as proof of compliance.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the health and safety of all Hajj pilgrims, noting that these measures are crucial in light of the evolving health challenges. The new guidelines are expected to provide a safer pilgrimage experience, aligning with international health standards.
