Famous actor of Pakistani drama industry started his own restaurant in Islamabad F7 Markaz, at the age of 53, and step ahead to start an enterprise, where he could become more self-reliant and initiated a new startup as Khaaba by Nauman Masood.
Varity of food in Desi Kitchen of Naman Masood is waiting, where people of capital will fulfill their desire for new taste in Colorful building in F7 Markaz.
Masood’s project is basically due to “midlife crisis” and there is a lot he wants and can do in life.
By sharing his optimistic views regarding life and new startup, he said.
“At my age, you don’t qualify as a young man and neither as an old one — you find yourself stuck somewhere in the middle. I still feel young and my friends and I have kept ourselves fit, perhaps credited to our diets back in the day,”
According to Masood’s point of view, one of the main reason to pull himself out of art and media industry, and step toward hospitality, is slow work in media industry and the quality of scripts he received.
Further he said: During my last three to four years in Karachi, I learnt that work in the media industry was slow. Most scripts I would receive would not inspire me and only once in a while would I get something worth doing. At this age in Pakistan, they don’t really consider you for a hero’s role, and I found myself just waiting for the right call. I felt suffocated.”
Masood disclosed that, he became motivated by government initiatives in promoting tourism,
He had plan to setup something different in Nathia Gali, an appealing spot for local and international tourists. He is still on his project but his legal issues and challenges in his life derail him from this plan.
By sharing his steps to Khaaba he said: “I traveled to Islamabad for a day at the request of my business partner and that’s where I saw this building. It was a plain and simple Islamabad-style building. I thought I’d do something excited with it, and then I started Khaaba,”
He further added, “I didn’t know what sort of a building I’d create. I like playing with colors and lights, I’ve been doing it for years, so I made this colorful building. It’s been very successful, and I’m so grateful to God,”
He dedicated all of his efforts to his mother, who died last year.
“My mother died last year. I told her several time that I’d like to open a restaurant, and she would say let’s do it in Islamabad. I had brought her to Karachi with me, and she always missed Islamabad,”
Masood believes it is the result of his mother’s well wishes and prayers.
It is difficult to work and live far from your family, especially when you spend whole life with them, and decisions and troubles are dealt with communally. His family has been a great help for him. Masood said.
Masood has a plan to develop and expand his business in other cities as well and maybe even outside.
