Around 15 to 20 armed assailants entered the premises of a private company in Karachi and snatched government-owned weapons from security personnel. The incident took place at around 2:45am in the Eastern Zone Industrial Area, according to the first information report (FIR).
Armed Men Scale Factory Wall
According to the FIR, the suspects entered the factory premises after climbing over a wall.
The assailants then confronted security personnel who were performing their duties at the site. They reportedly snatched a rifle and magazines from PCR Irshad Ali, security guard Mashooq Ali and policeman Mudassaar Hussain.
The attackers also took the victims’ mobile phones before fleeing the area.
The FIR stated that the suspects were armed and acted as a group during the incident.
Initial information suggests that the assailants targeted the security staff while they were on duty inside the industrial premises.
Police Begin Investigation
Soon after receiving information about the incident, senior police officials reached the factory.
The officers inspected the crime scene and collected information about the circumstances surrounding the robbery. Police later registered an FIR against 15 to 20 unidentified suspects. Investigators have started efforts to identify the attackers and trace their movements after they left the premises.
Authorities are also expected to examine available evidence from the site as part of the investigation.
The snatching of government-owned weapons has added another concern for investigators, who will need to determine how the suspects entered the secured premises and escaped with the firearms.
For now, police have not announced any arrests or identified the individuals involved in the incident.
The investigation remains underway as authorities work to establish the identities of the suspects and recover the stolen weapons and mobile phones.
