LOS ANGELES: Pop superstar Ariana Grande will step away from public appearances after completing her Eternal Sunshine tour next month and will no longer appear in a planned London revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George.
A representative for the Grammy-winning singer told People magazine that Grande plans to “take a step back from visibility” after the tour concludes, citing the intense public scrutiny she has faced in recent years. The representative said the singer intends to prioritize her health and well-being following months of demanding performances.
The production company behind the 2027 Barbican Theatre revival confirmed Grande’s withdrawal and expressed full support for her decision. Organisers said the production would continue as scheduled, with British actor Jonathan Bailey remaining in the lead role under director Marianne Elliott.
Tour concludes before planned hiatus
Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour continues with performances in Chicago before moving to London’s O2 Arena for 10 concerts beginning August 15. The final show is scheduled for September 1, marking the end of the global tour.
Her representatives said the physically demanding performances require significant athleticism and emphasized that she has continued performing successfully throughout the tour. They added that the singer is looking forward to ending the tour on a positive note before taking a well-earned break from public-facing commitments.
