Cupertino event could mark Appleโs entry into foldable smartphones alongside new flagship iPhones and Apple Watch models
CUPERTINO: Apple has officially scheduled its next major product event for September 9, 2026, with the technology giant expected to unveil the iPhone 18 Pro lineup and its first foldable iPhone.
The event will begin at 10am Pacific Time at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Moreover, Apple will livestream the keynote online for audiences worldwide.
Apple has promoted the event under the tagline โSurprise and Shineโ, accompanied by an illuminated company logo. However, the company has not officially revealed which products it plans to introduce.
iPhone 18 Pro Series Expected With Major Upgrades
Apple is widely expected to launch the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max while retaining much of the design language introduced with the previous generation.
However, reports suggest the smartphones will feature Appleโs new A20 Pro chipset, improved cellular connectivity, a smaller Dynamic Island and upgraded cameras.
Furthermore, rumours point towards a variable-aperture main camera, although Apple could reserve the feature for the Pro Max model. Dark Cherry and Sky Blue are also reportedly among the new colour options.
First Foldable iPhone Could Steal the Show
Meanwhile, Apple could make its long-awaited entry into the foldable smartphone market with a book-style device reportedly referred to as the iPhone Ultra.
The device could feature an approximately 5.5-inch external display and a 7.67-inch internal screen. Reports also suggest Apple may integrate Touch ID into the power button instead of using Face ID.
Additionally, Apple could optimise the software interface for the larger folding screen, offering users an experience closer to an iPad when fully opened.
However, Apple has not confirmed the foldable deviceโs final name or specifications.
The company is also expected to introduce new Apple Watch models and accessories. Pricing, specifications and availability details are expected during the September 9 presentation.
