Aimal Wali Khan extends Eid greetings, urges simplicity and avoiding large gatherings.
The Awami National Party (ANP) has announced that it will celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr today in alignment with the global Muslim community, irrespective of the official moon-sighting decision in Pakistan. ANP Central President Aimal Wali Khan sent his heartfelt Eid greetings to Muslims worldwide, with special prayers for the oppressed people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Aimal Wali Khan emphasized that, just like the fasting days of Ramadan, Eid would be observed in unity with the broader Muslim world. He called on the public to celebrate the occasion with simplicity and avoid large gatherings in light of the current circumstances.
The ANP leader also stated that there would be no Eid gatherings or greetings at Wali Bagh this year, underlining the importance of maintaining precautions and prioritizing public health and safety.
He further urged people to share their joy with those in need and donate a portion of their resources to the underprivileged. “Let’s ensure everyone can partake in the festivities of Eid,” he said.
In the meantime, Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet today in Islamabad to sight the Shawwal moon. The Meteorological Department has confirmed that the new moon was born at 3:58 pm today, with a strong possibility of Eid-ul-Fitr being observed nationwide on Monday, March 31.
