ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) intercepted a parcel carrying 2.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine at a courier office in Karachi.
Officials found the drugs concealed inside hockey balls during an inspection of the parcel bound for Australia.
The operation formed part of a nationwide crackdown against drug trafficking, which resulted in six arrests and the seizure of narcotics and liquor.
According to ANF officials, authorities conducted five intelligence-based operations across Karachi, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, and Kala Shah Kaku.
Officials recovered 213.381 kilograms of various narcotics, 204 litres of liquor, and ecstasy pills during the operations.
ANF Foils Multiple Smuggling Attempts
Near Kala Shah Kaku Toll Plaza, officers stopped a vehicle and recovered 672 bottles containing 204 litres of liquor.
Meanwhile, officers arrested three suspects near Pir Wadhai in Rawalpindi after recovering 7.2 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle.
In another Rawalpindi operation, officials arrested two motorcycle riders and seized 100 ecstasy pills weighing 56 grams.
Similarly, officers intercepted a parcel at a Peshawar courier office and recovered 30 ecstasy pills weighing 25 grams from a jar.
The ANF registered separate cases against the suspects under relevant narcotics laws.
Furthermore, authorities launched investigations to identify and arrest other individuals allegedly involved in the drug trafficking network.
