ISLAMABAD: Pakistani actress Alizeh Shah has issued a clarification after a video she shared on social media sparked controversy and was linked to fellow actress Dananeer Mobeen.
Taking to her Instagram story, Alizeh Shah said her video was never intended as a jab at Dananeer and questioned why viewers assumed it was directed at her. She explained that the clip simply showed her singing the line โMosam zara sa bigraโ and that holding her nose was part of a joke.
Alizeh stated that the gesture was meant in humour and possibly referred to a blocked nose or a change in weather. She said the situation had been unnecessarily exaggerated and suggested the controversy might be linked to the promotion of an upcoming drama.
Addressing the backlash, Alizeh accused Dananeerโs manager of attempting to create controversy without reason. She claimed she had previously hired the same manager around five years ago but ended the professional association after only a month.
The actress clarified that she never mentioned Dananeer by name in her video and said she does not know her personally nor has she ever met her. She added that the assumptions being made on social media were baseless and misleading.
Alizeh further remarked that โthe girlโ was acting as if everything revolved around her and urged manager Umer Mukhtar to step out of what she described as a delusional mindset. She said such tactics could not stop her.
The controversy began after Dananeer Mobeen was seen singing the popular song Saiyaara in an interview. Hours later, Alizeh Shah shared a separate video singing the same song, leading social media users to speculate that she was mocking Dananeer, similar to a past incident involving singer Zoiha Waseem. Alizeh later denied all such claims.
