The Higher Education Commission has announced additional scholarship opportunities for Pakistani students at Egypt’s prestigious Al-Azhar University. Consequently, the number of available seats has increased significantly.
According to HEC, scholarship seats have risen from 30 to 50. The scholarships are available for admission to the Bachelor’s Program in Shariโah Sciences.
The announcement reflects growing educational cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt. Moreover, the opportunity was communicated through the Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Students interested in Islamic studies can now apply for undergraduate education at one of the world’s leading Islamic institutions. Therefore, eligible candidates are encouraged to complete their applications promptly.
Eligibility Requirements for Applicants
Applicants must be Pakistani or AJK nationals to qualify for the scholarship. They must also possess educational qualifications in Islamic Studies or related disciplines.
Eligible qualifications include Shariโah Sciences, Shahadat-ul-Alamiya, Dars-e-Nizami, and equivalent programs. Furthermore, relevant authorities must recognize all submitted qualifications.
Candidates from unrelated academic fields will not qualify for the scholarship program. Additionally, applicants must satisfy admission requirements established by Al-Azhar University and Egyptian authorities.
The application deadline for both online submissions and hard copies is June 29, 2026. Therefore, applicants should complete all requirements before the closing date.
Documents and Application Process
Applicants must provide attested academic certificates, transcripts, and passport-size photographs. They must also submit a birth certificate and a valid passport.
Additional requirements include a character certificate, medical certificate, and other supporting documents. Moreover, applicants must attach a No Objection Certificate where applicable.
Candidates should apply through the international student portal of Al-Azhar University. Afterward, they must follow the official application guidelines carefully.
Once the online process is complete, applicants must submit two attested document sets. These documents should be sent to the designated address in Islamabad’s Diplomatic Enclave before the deadline.
