Intelligence-Based Operation Launched
Shaukat Nawaz Mir, a core member of the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee, has been arrested, according to sources.
The arrest was made after authorities received information about his possible presence in Sangar Phatare, a suburb of Dhirkot.
Sources said security personnel launched an intelligence-based operation in the area after confirming leads about his movement.
A house was raided where Mir had reportedly taken shelter. However, he was not present at the location when security teams reached the site.
Shelter Provider Detained During Raid
During the operation, security agencies detained a man who had allegedly provided shelter to Shaukat Nawaz Mir.
Officials said the detained individual was taken into custody for further investigation.
Security personnel then expanded the search operation to nearby areas. Teams searched surrounding locations to trace Mirโs movement.
According to sources, the search later moved toward a forested area near the original raid site.

Sources said Shaukat Nawaz Mir was eventually arrested from a nearby forest during the follow-up search operation.
Security agencies have not yet released further details about the circumstances of his arrest.
Authorities are expected to investigate how long he had been hiding in the area and who may have assisted him.
The arrest comes amid continued action against members of the banned Jammu Kashmir Joint Public Action Committee.
