Security Measures Announced for Polling
The Chief Election Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining law and order during the elections. Therefore, Rangers and security forces will supervise polling activities across Azad Kashmir.
Officials expect the enhanced security arrangements to help ensure peaceful voting. Additionally, authorities aim to provide a safe environment for voters, candidates, and election staff.
The Election Commission stated that all security measures will follow established electoral regulations. These arrangements will remain in place throughout the election period.
Restrictions Imposed Under Election Code
To promote fairness, the Election Commission has imposed several restrictions across Azad Kashmir. Authorities have banned new government appointments, transfers, and postings during the election period.
The commission said these measures will help prevent undue influence on the electoral process. Consequently, government departments must comply with the restrictions until elections conclude.
Moreover, the Election Commission has prohibited the launch of new development schemes and public projects. Officials explained that the decision aligns with the election code of conduct.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to conducting free, fair, and transparent elections. As political activities intensify, candidates and parties will now prepare for the upcoming contest scheduled for July 27.
