Security forces killed four terrorists, including wanted Afghan militant Obaidullah Saad, during an intelligence-based operation. The operation took place in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on September 8, 2026.
Security sources identified Saad as the son of Ghulam Ghaus Salehi. They said he belonged to Shahi Qila village in Afghanistan’s Logar province and had links to militant activities.
According to security officials, Saad was affiliated with the banned Fitna al-Khawarij group. He was allegedly involved in multiple terrorist attacks and activities inside Pakistan.
Wanted Militant Among Those Killed
The Counter Terrorism Department had announced a Rs. 12 million reward for information leading to the arrest or whereabouts of Imran, alias Abu Bakr. However, the provided security account identifies the Afghan militant killed in the operation as Obaidullah Saad.
Three associates of the wanted militant also died during the operation. Security forces said the action followed intelligence about hostile elements operating in the area.
The latest operation highlights continued security efforts along Pakistan’s western border. Authorities have repeatedly targeted militants suspected of infiltrating Pakistan from Afghanistan.
Security Forces Vow Continued Operations
Security forces said operations against hostile elements entering Pakistan from Afghanistan would continue without discrimination. They also stressed that protecting national security and citizens’ lives and property remains a priority.
Officials reiterated that authorities would take action against groups threatening peace and stability. They further pledged that Pakistan would make no compromise on national security and public safety.
The operation comes amid continued concerns over militant activity along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border. Security agencies continue conducting intelligence-based operations to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks.
