Pakistani actor praises locally produced reality show despite budget and technical differences with larger international productions

Renowned Pakistani actor and television host Adnan Siddiqui has addressed frequent comparisons between Pakistan’s reality show Tamasha and India’s hugely popular Bigg Boss, saying the local production competes strongly despite operating with significantly fewer resources.

Speaking during a recent interview with journalist Maliha Rehman, Siddiqui discussed Tamasha’s growth after five seasons and acknowledged that comparisons with major international reality programmes were inevitable.

However, he pointed out that shows such as Bigg Boss operate with substantially larger budgets, bigger production teams and more advanced technical systems.

Despite those limitations, Siddiqui said Tamasha continues to deliver a high-quality production capable of competing with established international formats.

Siddiqui Gives Tamasha High Marks Despite Resource Gap

The actor maintained that larger foreign productions benefit from years of experience and greater financial resources. Nevertheless, he rejected suggestions that these differences make Pakistan’s offering inferior.

Siddiqui rated the local team’s overall effort at an impressive 18 out of 20, highlighting what producers have achieved with the resources available to them.

Moreover, he acknowledged that Tamasha’s visual presentation and stage design have become noticeably grander with each season.

The programme has steadily expanded its scale while developing its own identity among Pakistani reality television audiences.

Local Professionals Power Entire Production

Siddiqui also revealed that Pakistani professionals handle the complete production without relying on foreign technical assistance.

According to him, local directors, camera operators, lighting crews, set designers and other production professionals manage every major aspect of the programme.

He described this reliance on domestic expertise as one of Tamasha’s most significant achievements.

Furthermore, Siddiqui said the production team has demonstrated that Pakistani entertainment professionals can create a sophisticated reality television programme despite financial and technological constraints.

His remarks subsequently attracted positive reactions from viewers, with fans praising the professionals working behind the scenes.

As Tamasha continues to expand its scale, Siddiqui believes its locally driven production remains central to the programme’s growing success.
